PM Narendra Modi in Kashmir: 'I have won...', Modi's big comment after setting foot in Kashmir for the first time after abrogation of Article 370

The Prime Minister said, 'I don't have the words to express this feeling of being able to come to heaven. I am told that 1 lakh people from 285 blocks have joined us. I would like to thank the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the new Jammu and Kashmir for which we have been waiting for decades.”

Article 370 and Article 35A of Jammu and Kashmir were repealed on 5 August 2019. After almost 5 years, Prime Minister Modi stepped on the soil of Kashmir for the first time. Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of the Rs 6,000 crore project in Srinagar today. After that, Modi gave the message that he has managed to win the hearts of Kashmiris.

Today the Prime Minister said, 'I don't have the words to express this feeling of being able to come to heaven. I am told that 1 lakh people from 285 blocks have joined us. I would like to thank the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the new Jammu and Kashmir we have been waiting for for decades. This is the new Jammu and Kashmir for which Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee dedicated his life. This new Jammu and Kashmir has a bright future. You have the courage to overcome the challenges that will come before this Jammu and Kashmir... 1.4 billion people across the country feel satisfied seeing your happiness.'

Modi said, 'Every time I came here after 2014, I always tried to win your hearts. And I see that I have managed to win your hearts. I will still try my best. This is Modi's guarantee.' Modi then went on to say, 'Today, I have the opportunity to inaugurate several development projects related to tourism... We aim to power development, tourism potential, empower farmers and lead the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. The way to build a better Jammu and Kashmir will come out from here. Jammu and Kashmir is not just a region, it is the head of India. Priority will be given to developing Jammu and Kashmir in the Developed India project.'

The Prime Minister further said, 'Today, 6 projects have been dedicated to the country under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. The next phase of 'Swadesh Darshan' project has also been launched. Under this, about 30 projects have been started for Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country. Now my next mission is 'Wed in India'. People should come to J&K and organize their marriage ceremony... The world has seen how successfully the G20 summit was held in J&K. There was a time when people used to say, who will travel to Jammu and Kashmir? Today, tourism in Jammu and Kashmir is breaking all records. In 2023, more than 2 crore tourists have visited here... Now the world's biggest celebrities are also visiting Jammu and Kashmir.'
